In the myths and customs of ancient Greece, a “tear jar” was used
to catch the precious drops of water from those mourning their
dead. These captured tears were believed to contain healing
properties and to keep out evil when sprinkled over the
doorway. Tear Jar: The Blues Musical is a stunningly original
and powerful reinterpretation of that ancient myth; driven by song, character, and story, it indelibly touches the human spirit.
