Palomino Entertainment Group and the Williamsburg Regional Library is pleased to remount their highly successful production of "War of the Worlds".
Originally produced by Orson Welles and his "Mercury Theater on the Air" on the CBS radio network in 1938, "War of the Worlds" was a realistic depiction of a Martian invasion of America that spread panic throughout a nation that was already living through similar threats of war in Europe. With actors and sound effect artists on stage, Director Victoria Racimo, will combine the style of"old time radio"with readers' theatre. The production will feature a set design similar to a typical radio station of the era.
It is being offered free of charge as part of the library’s Centennial
Celebration Series, made possible by Lee and Betty Ann Griffin. For
more information, call the library at (757) 259-4070.
