As chronicled in Barbara Livingston's book "More Old Friends", the Haven was started from Jeanne's promise to Our Mims that the elder mare would never be forgotten. Using Jeanne's extensive experience with older equines, Jeanne has created a place for Thoroughbred broodmares to come and remain until the end of their days. The ladies, as they are called, are tended to with love and devotion... and respect. Given appropriate and timely veterinary, farrier, and dental care, the mares thrive under Jeanne's touch. Fans are now able to see the ex-racers, the mothers, the grandmothers, and the great-grandmothers of their Thoroughbred favorites. Barbara Livingston appreciates the work of the Haven so much, she included an entire chapter about Jeanne and the ladies in her book, More Old Friends.

PEG mourns the passing of Timeless Sue, 33, who died on July 11, 2012 at Our Mims Retirement Haven in Paris, Kentucky. Jeanne Mirabito, founder of Our Mims said Timeless Sue had danced out of the barn the night before, looked happy, healthy, and young despite her age.Timeless Sue had eight foals, most notable is Timeless Girl, dam of Bourbon Belle, winner of over $1.15 million dollars in forty starts and Not Bourbon, out of Bourbon Belle, was a winner of over $1 million in fifteen starts and finished first in the Queen's Plate Stakes in 2008. Timeless Sue herself earned just over $100,000 in her racing career. She arrived at Our Mims Retirement Haven in March of 2005. Timeless Sue was buried in the Haven cemetery on the afternoon of her death.
